Today’s Technology in communications

There are many different types of technology in communication.   These types of technologies are what is used to make different presentations for a business or a student that has to make a professional presentation.

One of the many types of this technology is Prezi.  This is a new technology that is set out to upstage power point.  This is a technology that is way better and more efficient than power point.  It is a new and innovative idea that is a very good resource to any person in the field of business.  This technology shows the advancement of all technologies and how there is always a better way to do something. 

Power point is old school.  This technology is very helpful to teachers.  It helps them get other students more active and to participate more in class.  There is also many ways that a student can use this. Everyone wants to have the best presentation in class. This is a way to show that you know what the superior technology is.  There are many ways to use this technology to advance your elf and show that you are superior to your colleagues.  

This can also be used by a business.  There are many ways that a business can use this technology.  This is a very good way to present yourself and what you are trying to sell.  There are many applications that this technology allows you to use more advanced form of presenting, to make your presentation a functioning and pretty.

There are really only good things about this technology. It can be used for almost any industry and can help many people look superior to their competitor. The only down side to this is that if you want cooler and a different variety of things you can do to your presentation you have to buy the program not just be a free member.  Although this can be of an inconvenience it is not too much money so it is worth it if you are someone who makes presentations a lot.

Google Docs

Google Docs is a new and up-n-coming technology that is used by many different types of people.  It has updated its self to Google Drive which is an even better technology than the original.  It is now able to store more and you are able to do more with it. You can now make different types of document with it such as presentation power points and formatting for an excel sheet.  This can be a very useful source to a business and to the average student.

This technology can be used by students.  I, as a student, use this for almost every subject.  I use it to write my essays so I can take my work home with me and not have to worry about losing my flash drive.  This is the intention Google had when it was launching this new resource. I have been able to share any papers with other students that I have had to work with. When sharing the document you are able to out in the other persons email and then send it to them to say that you are allowing them to work with you on it.  It also has a chat room where you can talk with the people you are collaborating with.  This is very helpful because you will be able to talk to them and discuss what needs to be done. You can also see what they are doing with the document because you each have a different color curser line.   This is very helpful to all students.  However there are some down sides to this technology.  If there is not internet or the internet is down you will not be able to access your work. Also sometimes your file can get lost or erased. This means that if you write something and it doesn’t save properly it can delete anything that you have just written.

Google Docs can also be used for a business. There are many ways that a business can use this technology.  For the same reasons that a student might use this a business can use this.  They can use it to make spread sheets presentations for an important meeting and many others.  This is very good for a growing business that is able to get their presentations to be the best they can be

Social media and your privacy

          Social media.  This is a term that almost everyone knows of.  There are many social media devices and technologies that are present within our society. They include Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, MySpace, and Google +.  There are many sketchy things that go into having one of these accounts.  This can lead to many negative things that can come out of having one of these accounts and we all know this.  However, we all are guilty of having an account with at least one of these social media technologies.

            Facebook is one of the many social media technologies on the web.  When it first launched it was booming. Now the excitement of it has dwindled down to almost nothing.  However when it was on the high of its career, they have implemented many things that would help their company but lower the security of their users.   In the process of trying to make more money they have allowed many business accesses to your personal information in exchange for money.  Many people do not know that this is going on which can be considered wrong and un-lawful.    This is a complete invasion of privacy but because they make the agreements so long and not to the point, everyone just scrolls through and do not read what this entitles the runners of Facebook to do with our information. 

            Google + is also a very notable social media technology.  This is also one of the many sights that invade on your privacy. The thing with Google+ is that if you have the email you have an account even if you did not want one.  This has caused much controversy over if this is a lawful tactic on how to get more people to have an account.  Because they did not tell the people with the emails that this is going on they actually got into a lot of trouble. They open you up to many people on the internet that are looking to follow random people to get followers and for all we know they can be some kind of creep that want to kill you.  They have led to the potential killing of someone.  All of these types of medias have done this and they all say that there is no way for someone to access your information and that there is privacy but a good hacker or someone who knows a little about computers can most likely get your information without difficulty.  We all know the possibilities however we all have at least one of these technologies so I guess it’s our own stupidity.

Linked In is a company created by Ried Hoffman in 2002.  It is a company that is used to connect different companies and business on a professional level.  This technology is considered to be the Facebook for professionals.  It is used so different professionals are able to share the different resources that they have accumulated and to be a resource to other companies that could be of use to others. This is a great resource for a business to have and can lead to further success of a company.

Business would be the types of demographic for this technology.  There are many ways that a business can use this and there are many benefits of using this.  One way a business can use it to their advantage is to use it for marketing purposes and to get the name of their company out there.  They can use it to promote their business. Another way business can use this to their advantage is using it to find other companies that can be of service to them. They go hand in hand.  You can be advertising and promoting your business or you can be looking for other businesses that are promoting themselves. You can also use this website to ask for others if they know any good references that they can check out that would be of assistance for any situation they are in. 

Not only can it help a business but it can help you. If you are one of the many who are out of a job during these hard times you can use this as a resource.  Many companies will post If they have a position open and you can use this to help you find a new job.  This is a very good thing to have as a resource and has helped many people and business on their path to success. 

All in all this is a very helpful and is quality piece of technology.  I definitely recommend it to anyone with a business.  You have such easy access to any information you will need on hiring or outsourcing to various companies.  It is used by many and is continuously growing.  Although you can really use it for a recreational aspect to your life it is definitely helpful to the everyday company.

Twitters power over today’s society

Twitter is used by many people all around the world.  It is considered to be one of the many social media networks that can connect you with people all around the world in a second.  It can be used recreationally/socially, for entertainment, business, and for news updates.   Many people will use these types of social media to their own advantage.  This can be good in some ways or bad in other depending on what you personally want to do with it. 

            Many people use twitter and other technologies to their advantage.  A business can use twitter to help promote its business.  It uses it as a marketing device so you can maybe see if there are any special offering or so you can update yourself with what the company is doing new or making. There is also a very large demographic of people who use twitter so business would be able to reach out to the people. The demographic that the business are trying to reach would be using this technology for social reasons. 

Social media can be used in a negative or positive way.  One of the many positive way that it can be used it so wish someone happy birthday. Or it can simply be used to look at what others are doing during the day or how they feel during the day.  Many people who are using it in a positive way aren’t really trying to use it to hurt others.  Something that has become a big problem with social media is that more and more people are becoming a victim of cyber bullying.  Not only Is this bad but it has led to many deaths of children, mostly teens.  Also, through this technology people can get into fights which can be seen by others.  Some might think that this is the entertaining part of the technology, however, it is not.  For entertainment purposes it can be used to share different music and different games. Many Celebrities also use twitter to keep their audience in touch with what they are doing in their career. Celebrities can also use this as a resource to promote products that they have created such as perfume or can use it as a form of advertisement. This is one thing that is good about the technology because you get to keep in touch with the celebrities you find interesting. 

There are many bad and good parts about technology. Studies show that people who spend more time on the internet tend to be more likely to get depressed. This can be related back to cyber bullying. Cyber bulling is when someone is being harassed or humiliated on the internet. This can cause depression in a teen and anxiety and increase their chances of self-harm or even as extreme as suicide. This is not something that can be taken lightly. The social media networks have opened the gate to teens becoming a victim of bullying. The state has taken some footsteps in the right direction to spot this from happening.  However many people have already become the victim to this tragedy and some are not able to tell their tale on why social media has hurt them in some way.
